Over the last seven years, the Australian Homestay Network (AHN-AU) has set a new standard for international student homestays. The American Homestay Network (AHN-USA), in partnership with the Australian company, was created to bring internationally acclaimed homestay industry best practices into the vast American international student market.
Through our partnership with our Australian colleagues, AHN-USA brings decades of experience in technology, marketing, and operations, as well as proven policies, procedures, standards, training, and online systems resulting in the most comprehensive homestay program in the industry. Our service offerings include a sophisticated host-student matching process, banking and payment services, a rigorous proprietary background-check program, a 24/7 critical-incident service, airport transportation services, and online cultural and hosting training and testing—all of which is all facilitated through our HMS™ (Homestay Management System) technology. AHN-USA has secured a long-term exclusive global license for the HMS technology from a development affiliate of the University of Queensland. This system facilitates communications, applications, placements, and payments for all stakeholders—students, agents, hosts, and institutions.
AHN-USA has a mission to provide a safe, comfortable, and culturally enriching experience for all parties involved in a homestay. We view our hosts as ambassadors for our country, and our selection process will ensure that our hosts possess the interest, motivation, and capability to offer a supportive environment that will ensure each student's successful integration into American culture. Our hosts provide more than a room for rent; they also offer a support system and authentic interest in welcoming a student to America. We know that a smoothly executed, positive introduction to a new country increases the probability that an international student will fulfill his or her educational goals.
We launched the program in the Seattle, Washington area in late 2012, and are now placing students early in 2013. New locations nationwide will be introduced in 2014. We encourage any educational institution or individual who is interested in learning about our program to contact us for more information. We look forward to hearing from you!
