AHN-USA hosts receive an expense reimbursement fee for hosting an international student in their home. Fees are paid directly to AHN-USA by the student; the majority of the student fee is reimbursed to the host for expenses and a percentage is retained by AHN-USA to cover management, systems, and professionally managed 24 X 7 critical support services. The table below reflects the amount reimbursed to the host for each program type. Please note that these are presented as 30 day monthly fees, although payments are made twice per month. Actual pricing is based on nightly rates for maximum accuracy from month to month so your fee could be slightly lower when the month has 28 days and higher on the months with 31 days. Background checks are conducted on all household members over the age of 18. The background checks are $50 each and will be deducted from your first host payment. Checks are done once every three years.
AHN evaluates each homestay for categorization as a standard or premium home. To qualify for premium, the home must be less than 30 minutes total transportation time from the school they attend, including walking time to a bus stop. You may qualify as a premium host for proximity to a certain school, but qualify as standard in another case because your home is a longer distance from different school. Premium rates may apply for short term stays or when hosting younger students. Pricing is subject to change.
